Privacy policy

Short version: there are no accounts. Your time card entries stay in your browser unless you press "Save to cloud / get share link". We use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly analytics today. We plan to add Google ads and Google Analytics, and this page explains what changes when we do.

Entries saved in your browser

Your punch times, breaks, paid-leave hours, hourly rate and settings are saved in your browser's local storage so they survive a reload. They are not sent to us. The keys we use are tcw-v2 (entries and settings), tcw-cloud (the private keys for any cloud copies you created) and mw-theme (light or dark theme). Older versions of the calculator used mw-timecard and mw-timecard-code; those may still be in your browser. You can remove all of this with "Clear this period" or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Optional cloud copy and share links

If you press Save to cloud / get share link, the current pay period (punch times, breaks, paid-leave hours, hourly rate and calculator settings) is sent to our server and stored in Cloudflare Workers KV. Do not put names or other personal details in the sheet if you plan to share it.

• The link contains a random 128-bit code. Anyone who has the link can view that copy, so share it only with people you trust.
• Only the browser that created the copy can change or delete it. It holds a separate secret key, and our server stores only a hash of that key.
• A cloud copy expires automatically 90 days after its last save. You can delete it sooner with "Delete cloud copy" in the browser that created it.
• Before October 18, 2026 the calculator saved sheets to the cloud automatically under short codes. Those older copies can still be opened (view only) but can no longer be changed. To have one removed, email us the code.

Hosting, security and rate limits

The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We use your IP address briefly to rate-limit cloud saves; we do not store it with your sheet.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure page speed. It does not set cookies, does not use local storage to identify you, and does not track you across other sites. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Planned: Google Analytics 4. We may add Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful. If we do, it will use cookies to measure visits. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it will run only after you consent. Share-link codes will be removed from the page addresses it records. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Advertising (planned)

We plan to show ads served by Google AdSense to keep the calculator free. There are no ads on the site today. When ads are added:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ad Settings. You can opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
• In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a Google-certified consent tool will ask for your choice before advertising cookies are used. You will be able to change that choice at any time.

We will update this page, including the date above, before ads or Google Analytics go live.

Cookies

TimeCardWhiz itself sets no cookies today. The planned Google services above would set cookies as described.

Your choices and rights

We do not sell personal information. Because there are no accounts, the main data we hold is any cloud copy you create. You can delete it yourself, or email us to ask about, correct or delete data. That includes requests under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California privacy law.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
